MDF Italia has been awarded the Archiproducts Design Award for the table “Tense material intarsia”.

The third edition of the international competition Archiproducts Design Awards (ADA) has just ended and the names of the products and companies that have won the prestigious award, which celebrates the excellence of design in a wide range of categories, have been unveiled. An international and multidisciplinary jury has evaluated over 600 products to select the 105 winners of the 2018 edition.

That is why the jury awarded MDF Italia the ADA in the furnishing category for the Tense Material Intarsia project by Piergiorgio & Michele Cazzaniga: a table that fully expresses the values of recognition.

Tense Material Intarsia is the expression of the long research path of the designers on the use of marble, as a material to be explored and of the surface to give the object the opportunity to overcome the limit of the form and give it an artistic value with the purpose to convey emotions. 

The surface of the table, covered with marble dust, becomes the space on which to represent the Kandinsky's "Point, Line, Surface" theory.
The surface crossed by the lines can unconsciously transmit to those who observe its direction, an internal musicality; in fact, while admiring the object, everyone will perceive their own music and based on their experiences will receive a different response to the concerns that come from each element.
