The Neil family of seats designed by Jean Marie Massaud is a project in continuous development, which stands out for its simplicity, versatility and design accuracy. The steel wire structure draws a simple and light architecture, while the leather, cord or fabric upholstery, combined with the wide range of colours, gives character, allowing it to adapt to various environments, indoor and outdoor, residential and contract, according to the different needs.

Neil Leather

Leather upholstery, handcrafted and 100% Made in Italy, a synonym for quality and exceptional craftsmanship, characteristic of the Italian manufacturing sector.

The concept resumes certain aspects of the classic form and the historical features of the Bauhaus period: very simple tubular frames, seat and backrest in taut saddle-hide.

Neil Textile & Denim

The Neil Textile family is available in chair and stool versions, the latter with two different height options.

Fabric upholstery, coupled and simply stretched on the frame, with riveted seams and colour matching stitching that enhance its tension and design.

Jacob Cohën’s tailored jeans envelop Jean Marie Massaud’s iconic seat, giving life to Neil Denim.

Neil Twist

The woven version uses 330 metres of rope for the armchair, 170 metres for the chair, and 150 metres for the stool.

Handwoven seats with an original and exclusive design. 100% Made in Italy. The high-tenacity polyester rope, solution-dyed, ensures resistance to weather conditions, colourfastness and high durability with minimal stretching.

Characterised by a 12 mm steel wire frame, combining visual lightness and strength.

Neil Twist is also available in the Stool version, in two heights.

Neil Twist Armchair is available with or without armrests.

Jean Marie Massaud’s work is characterised by synthesis, reduction and lightness. His interests range from furniture to industrial products and accessories. In 2000 he opened Studio Massaud and expanded his activity to the fields of architecture and development strategy. With his creations he aims to shape the human being and the surrounding environment. Rock Table and Flow seating family are two of the iconic and best-selling collections that the French designer has created for MDF Italia.

Neil twist at “Please, have a seat” in Kortrijk

From the 15th October to the 14th November, Kortrijk, a town in Belgium, becomes a centre of design thanks to the exhibition "Please, Have a Seat", organised by the Biennale Interieur.
